ABDN are proud to announce that UK based, internationally applauded, Asian comedian Paul Chowdhry as the host of the 13th Annual Dinner and Business Awards 2011 on March 31st at the Royal Armouries. 2010 was an action-packed year for the London-based comedian; selling out the Indig02 and being attacked by a racist heckler on Channel five’s popular morning chat show, The Wright Stuff. He has been described as a “dangerous comic genius” by one newspaper and by another as having a “Quickfire style.”
He is spreading his name internationally, having performed in over ten different countries, including: Dubai, Germany and the USA. He has headlined the International Indian Kings of Comedy Tour and he was the first British act to perform at the Caribbean Comedy Festival held in Trinidad. But thus far he has not performed in the North of England, getting as for as the Birmingham NEC, so performing in Leeds will be new territory for Paul Chowdhry.
He is no stranger to the film world having starred in a number of high profile films such as: Rogue Trader with Ewan McGregor and Anna Friel, Colour Me Kubrick with John Malkovich. And It Was An Accident alongside Thandie Newton. His next film project will be ‘Swinging With The Finkles‘alongside Martin Freeman (The Office, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy), Melissa George (The Betrayed, 30 days of Night) and Jerry Stiller (Hairspray, The King of Queens (TV), Zoolander).

Paul follows the long ABDN tradition of having high profile comedians as our host for the Annual Dinner. In 2010 Shazia Mirza was host while in 2009, Kulvinder Ghir of Goodness Gracious Me provided the entertainment.
The ABDN Annual Dinner and Business Awards is the biggest business extravaganza in the region.
